Join us for Coffee with Friends with author Douglas Wissing on Sunday, February 24 from 2-3 pm in Meeting Room 1B, Monroe County Public Library. Refreshments will be served courtesy of the Friends Hospitality Committee. This program is free and all are welcome. Journalist and author Douglas Wissing will discuss his coverage of the Afghanistan War, now in its eighteenth year, and reads from his latest book, Hopeless but Optimistic: Journeying through America's Endless War in Afghanistan. He also discusses his independent reporting for media that include The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy, Politico, National Geographic Traveler, BBC, and CNN. The Friends of the Library sponsors Coffee with Friends, an opportunity to meet authors and artists and learn more about their work. The Friends advocate for Monroe County Public Library and support Library collections, services, programs, and staff development.
