Steve Bailey is a pioneer of the six string fretless bass whose techniques are studied around the world. Bailey has played and recorded with Dizzy Gillespie, The Rippingtons, Jethro Tull, Paquito D’rivera, Larry Carlton, and Willie Nelson, to name just a few. Bass Player Magazine wrote: “Steve Bailey is to the 6 string fretless bass what Columbus is to America.”

Together, they formed Bass Extremes in 1992, releasing their self-titled debut which remains one of the top selling musical/instructional bass products of all time. Subsequent DVD and CD releases followed as they toured the world performing clinics and concerts. They are also known and respected as the dynamic teaching duo who continue to teach together at events, colleges, and universities around the world. They were also instrumental in introducing the original “Bass Camp” idea when they ran their first Bass/Nature Camp in Tennessee in the year 2000 and Bass at the Beach in South Carolina a few years later- both intensive camps which attract students from all over the world.

Kade Puckett, also known as Pickin’ Puckett, is a guitarist and singer-songwriter with 30 years of experience playing music will open the show. A third-generation picker with a dedicated love of music, his musical mastery allows for the innovative meeting of sound and emotion. His command of the guitar and audience is undeniable. Puckett has evolved from a small-town player to a world-class entertainer. Spontaneous, magical, and honest, his live solo performance is both engaging and entertaining.

Puckett, a house performer at the Pine Room in Nashville, IN, from 2015 – 2018, holds the 2013 Indiana State Fingerstyle Contest title. This competition draws pickers from all over the world. In 2012, he placed second in the same contest.

Puckett began playing guitar at the age of 13— after being influenced by his grandfather who introduced him to the music of Chet Atkins. But he was mesmerized by Eddie Van Halen’s style in the ‘80s and has since continued his musical evolution from metal guitarist to world-class finger picker and songwriter. Through the years, his musical endeavor has developed into a solo act that can be experienced at venues throughout the Midwest.

Pickin’ Puckett’s sound has been heavily influenced by Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Django Reinhardt, Lenny Breau, Thom Bresh, Tommy Emmanuel, Jerry Reed, Eddie Van Halen, Pat Matheny, Steve Via and many others.

An interesting tidbit is that in 1991, while in high school, he helped design, build and play the World’s Largest Guitar — which was later purchased by Dick Clark
