ABOUT

The Eco-Heroes Art Contest seeks to connect the natural curiosity of students and residents to their passion for the environment and creativity as artists, writers, and craftspeople. The entry period for the 2024 Eco-Heroes Art Contest is now open! How To Enter:

Participation in the Eco-Heroes Art Contest is open to all public, private, and home-schooled students in grades K-12, as well as adults (18+) who reside in the City of Bloomington. The theme of the 2024 Eco-Heroes Art Contest is "Drops to Drains: Eco-Heroes Working with the City on Stormwater Strains!” This theme is intended to inform communities about the importance of proper stormwater management. Stormwater impacts the quality and quantity of Bloomington’s water.

Entries based on the theme are welcome in a wide range of formats, including visual (e.g., drawings, sculptures, paintings, animations, quilts, and craft projects), written (e.g., stories, poems, and essays), or performance art (e.g., songs, sketches, plays, and short films). The Earth Day awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 20th where each Eco-Hero will be presented with prizes sponsored by local businesses. The event will take place at Switchyard Park during the Bike to Earth Day event starting at 1:00pm.

Submissions should be dropped off with an entry form located in City Hall (401 N. Morton St.,) at the front desk by Friday, April 12th at 5:00pm.
