ABOUT

Exhibit: Hoosier–in-Residence: T.C. Steele’s Franklin Hall Studio Date: 10 July to 13 November 2020 Hours: Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Admission: $2 adults, $1 students, free for members and ages under 5

Born and raised a Hoosier, T. C. Steele brought the beauty of the Indiana landscape to a developing modern world. For the last four years of his life, T. C. and Selma Steele made Bloomington their home from fall to spring, spending the other half at the House of Singing Winds in nearby Brown County. While serving as Indiana University’s first artist-in-residence, he was given a studio at the top of Franklin Hall. Showing the impact T.C. and Selma Steele had on IU and Bloomington, the Monroe County History Center rebuilds that Franklin Hall studio supported by the IU Office of the Bicentennial.
