Patricia Rhodes Bartels is one of Indiana’s and the Midwest’s foremost impressionist oil painters. Her oil-on-gold and silver foil floral paintings, with an impasto finish, have been winners in too many art competitions to enumerate. Most recently, in a call out to over 500 Midwestern Artists, four of the eight pieces selected for the interior of the new Bloomington Hospital are by Patricia. Her beautiful paintings are being digitalized and converted into mosaics for the public areas of the hospital. Quite an honor.
For our current show, Patricia has brought The Venue more than 15 new paintings, some in her traditional style, and others that are simply oil paintings on canvas. What all of these fine paintings have in common is their extraordinary beauty.
