ABOUT

Join us on the verge of the eclipse for a heliocentric sonic celebration

“We are children of the sun--each and every one." --Sun Ra

Imagine being inside the sun and listening to seismic harmonics pulsing around you—and then the vigorous antics of a solar storm begins! Heliophonie (Sun Sound) is performed in-sync with the sun's harmonic tones. Our solar sphere oscillates like a bell ringing every 4 minutes 48 seconds. Overtones pulse in quadra-pole rotation. The magnetically braided storms twisting through the convection-zone are tracked by instrumental duets.

Heliphonie is informed by the science of helioseismology in our attempt to place the listeners inside the sun's singing convection zone. Our cycle of twelve 4:48 minute cells correspond to the twelve solar hymns performed at Iunu, the ancient city of Ra-Atum, on solstices, equinoxes, or eclipses. It is golden light, solar winds and pulsing tones of the sun unite us with life forms throughout the solar system.
