Off Night Productions is teaming up with three other local, women-led theatre companies for a play-reading festival, “In Her Words: A Celebration of Female Playwrights,” running October 27-29 at the Constellation Playhouse!
Opening the festival on Sunday, October 27 at 2:00pm, Resilience Productions, a company focused on educating and enlightening the public regarding many unknown contributions of African Americans to Indiana’s history, will be presenting A Selection of Scenes from Resilience: Indiana’s Untold Stories.
On Sunday evening at 7:00pm, Monroe County Civic Theatre, Bloomington’s only all-volunteer theatre company, will present ASYLUM or Madness & The Whole Thing by Patricia Kranke.
On Monday, October 28 at 7:00pm, Babel Theater Project will be presenting Babel, written by founder and playwright Ana Carneiro. A powerful tale of cultural erasure and personal alienation, Babel explores the human cost of globalization.
Closing out the festival on Tuesday, October 29 at 7:00pm, join Off Night Productions for a reading of Five Times In One Night by Chiara Atik, a clever (and extremely funny) play about sex, told in five bite-size parts—each a self-contained story about different kinds of damage and delight.
Don’t miss this celebration of female voices in theater!
