Discover your inner Jim Henson with this entry-level puppetry workshop that will exercise your creative and performing arts skills. Award-winning puppeteer, Emily McGee, will guide you on your puppeteering journey, from conceptualizing and building your personalized puppet to bringing your puppet to life.

Week 1 & 2: Puppet Building With hands-on instruction in a masked, socially distanced studio environment, new puppeteers will have access to an array of puppet-making tools as they learn how to make a basic rod puppet (similar to Kermit the Frog) with materials provided by BAFT, as well as any extra/personalized materials brought from home.

Week 3 & 4: Puppet Movement/Articulation Learn how to manipulate puppets (talking, gesturing, body language) in a convincing way, New puppeteers will begin to explore the movement, voice and characterization of a puppet through improv and/or scripted stories.
