Juneteenth is a federal holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It marks the historic day in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of the Civil War and slavery—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
PRIDE is an annual observance dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ culture, history, and community contributions, and is globally recognized in June. The month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, which served as a major catalyst for the modern gay liberation movement.
