ABOUT

Malcolm Dalglish and the Ooolites with former Pilobolus dancer Jun Kuribayashi bring wild soaring melodies, transcendent harmonies and acrobatic moves to the Buskirk Chumley Theater this Feb 24 at 7:30 pm. Love Songs for a Lasting World is a fanciful swirl of song, dance and pie. It has become a midwinter Bloomington tradition and a signature fundraiser for Middle Way House, an agency providing a full range of services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking in six counties throughout southern Indiana. This year’s show honors the spirit and life of Middle Way House’s beloved director of thirty years, Toby Strout. New works and old favorites create a soulful, inventive, and sometimes zany celebration of voice, nature and the human form. Bring your woollies, and join the lantern lit singing parade to a bonfire with delicious Muddy Fork apple pie, fresh from a wood-fired oven. This event provides unbridled joy and warmth in the depths of winter. “A piece of pie, a pie of peace! Welcome to our winter feast.” Doors for this reserved seating event will open at 7pm. The performance is expected to last roughly 2 hours, with a brief intermission. Children 6 and under are free. After the performance, all ticket-holders are invited to head outdoors to S. Washington St. – next to the theater – for a bonfire and a slice of homemade apple pie (included in ticket price).
