Paint Bloomington! is holding their third annual event on Saturday, October 5 at the Woodlawn Pavilion in Bryan Park (Next to the swimming pool). The Paint out will be held rain or shine!! Paint Bloomington is hosted by Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington. Bloomington Watercolor Society. Upland Plein Air Painters. Portrait Group. Bloomington Arts Commission. Psi Iota Xi, Bloomington Thrift Shop. There is NO fee, but registration is required to be eligible for judging. Artists must check in between 9.30 am and noon at the Pavilion on the day of the event. All artists will have canvasses or multi-media paper stamped before beginning their work. Supplies will be available for classes at the Pavilion and for painting on the Bryant Park grounds. Artists will be able to paint anywhere in Bloomington. The event is open to professional and emerging artists of all ages and skill levels to create original artwork of any subject in any medium. All stamped work will be eligible for judging. There will be awards for Professional Artists, Emerging Artists, Youth (7-11) and Teens (12-17). Artwork will be on display from 3-4:00 and the award ceremony will be at 4:00. Classes and Demonstrations will be at the Pavilion from 10:00-3:00. Limited supplies will be available for painting in the park, but we encourage all artists to bring their own.
There will be demonstrations throughout the day and opportunities to paint with artists. We will have a portrait model as well. Music and Storytelling will be at the Pavilion. Please email paintbloomington@gmail.com for additional information.
