Salón latino Chamber Music Series: Celebrating the Life of Alfonso Montecino The Latin American Music Center and the Montecino family invite you to a concert celebrating the life of renowned Chilean concert pianist and composer Alfonso Montecino (1924-2015). Professor Montecino was a member of the Jacobs School of Music piano faculty since 1963. Throughout his career of more than fifty years, he performed hundreds concerts in Europe, Asia and the Americas, including more than thirty complete performances of J.S. Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier. The concert program will take place at Auer Hall on Thursday, September 8 at 8pm. It will feature a pieces by Ravel, Massenet, as well a selection of Montecino’s original compositions. These will be performed by Jacobs School of Music faculty, invited artists, among them former students and colleagues, and family members. This event is free and open to the public.
