ABOUT

Join us for SAVING THE HOOSIER: THE CONCERT and connect with people who care about the future of OUR Hoosier National Forest while you enjoy live music up close.

The live concert will feature Hoosier musicians Sarah Flint and Jeff Shew, and is a fundraiser to help complete the new documentary film “Saving the Hoosier: The Fight for America’s Forests”. You will get to see a sneak peek of scenes from the film and meet narrator Hud Mellencamp! There will also be a brief talkback with cast members following the sneak peek. While there, enjoy some food and the opportunity to bid on locally-made and donated auction items. The film is being produced by Bloomington-based Women with Guts Productions. There will also be a brief talkback with members of the cast following the screening. With Artists for Climate Awareness as fiscal sponsor for the film, donations are tax-deductible.

Tickets for the concert are $30, and include beverages and pizza, generously donated by Pizza X. (please note: $20 of the ticket price is tax-deductible; $10 allocated for food/ beverages is not) Audience members will be invited to participate in a sing-along of the Indiana state song, "On the Banks of the Wabash"' that will be used in the film. "Saving the Hoosier" follows environmental activists who, through grassroots education and lawsuits, have successfully protected the Hoosier National Forest from the US Forest Service’s plans for commercial logging and prescribed burns to benefit timber sales.
