BPP's final show of the 17-18 Mainstage Season, The Oregon Trail, opens May 11!

13 year-old Jane has always had trouble making choices. Looking for an escape, she seeks refuge in the classic ‘80s video game, “The Oregon Trail” — where the choices are clear, the results are sure, and there’s always another life to live (after everyone dies of dysentery). But as time blurs, the boundaries between game and reality become hazy, until Jane finds herself leaping headfirst into the world of The Oregon Trail, where she’s forced to confront the choices she’s made, connect with her family, keep her oxen safe, and ford the river of life.

Featuring BPP favorite Steve Scott (Beating a Dead Horse) as Clancy, IU students Lisa Podulka as Mary Anne, Amy Reader as (Now) Jane, and Sarah Leafier as (Then) Jane, and another BPP favorite, Joel Watson (Billy Witch) as Billy/Matt.

Also featuring the creative work of Scenic Designer David Wade (Out of Orbit), Lighing Designer Erika Johnson (Beating a Dead Horse), Sound Designer David Sheehan (The Bull, The Moon, and the Coronet of Stars), Costume Designer Chib Gratz (Beating a Dead Horse), and BPP Resident Props Master Barb Steininger.

Director Jack McCarthy says "Audiences have a lot to look forward to - including a full wagon, a river, and a cast of fun characters - in this adventurous comedy about the strength of the human spirit across generations. We have an incredible design team and cast, and we can't wait to take audiences along the trail through woods, rivers, and teenage-hood/childhood into the human heart."
