ABOUT

Ever wonder how a crow mimics human speech? Not sure what the difference is between a tortoise and a turtle? Unsure about what that nocturnal critter walking through your backyard is doing? Find out at Wild Animal Spring Break! WildCare returns to the Museum! Wild Animal Spring Break features a variety of animal ambassadors from WildCare. Each program will teach you about an animal ambassador from WildCare, their story, adaptations, and their habitats. You may meet a skunk, a kestrel, or even a tortoise! These programs will feature one of a variety of WildCare animals. Wild Animal Spring Break gets you, safely, up close with wild animals. Next to wandering up to a deer on a hike, you aren’t going to get closer. Build a connection to the natural world that you can’t get in your backyard. If getting into nature is tough for you, then you can experience it inside at Wild Animal Spring Break. We are always proud to partner with WildCare, and each time they visit we learn a little more about the science, and effort, of conservation. Science isn’t always crunching data in a lab, sometimes you work directly in our natural world to learn about our environment. You can learn so many cool things about these, mostly, native animals! If you want to know a little bit more about WildCare, visit their website, they are always looking for volunteers and support. WildCare is a wildlife rehabilitation center whose “focus is on providing professional care to sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife so that they may be returned to the wild. We provide care and rehabilitation services to all native Indiana wildlife species, with the exception of deer. We also strive to help protect the next generation of wildlife through our education and community outreach programs.”
